First 2007 Litter

For those new to this blog, I'm a foster mom for cats and kittens. Every year we take in homeless momma cats and give them and their babies a home with quality nutrition, socialization, and medical care. When the kittens are old enough we find homes for them. We just got our first litter of 2007!

Momma Larisa was a cat owned by someone in Racine who needed to move back to her home country of Serbia. She could not take the cat and kittens with her to Serbia and we agreed to take them in.

Here are some photos.

We named the kittens with Eastern European names to reflect their former owner's culture.

The mom is Larisa.

The male kitten is named Boris (Yeltsin)
The 3 female kittens are: Tatiana, Svetlana and Natasha.

They have just begun eating solid Baby Cat food and are being litter trained as we speak.

Do you need to find homes for the kittens or does someone else help with that?

Hi Amanda,

The organization I volunteer for has an Adoption Center and we also have an arrangement with a local pet store to go there every week with some kittens and cats. We set up an adoption table for our organization and people can adopt from us there.

Sometimes we adopt them our of our own home however, before they get to the Adoption Center or pet store.

Momma will be spayed and adopted out too.

That's awesome that you do that. I recycle ink cartridges for a local organization that tends to feral cats and of course, their kittens. I have 7 of my own as 4 kittens were dropped off on my front porch 2 years ago that were only about 4 weeks old. Fed them from a bottle for 2 weeks and ended up not being able to give them away. Love my cats!!!

I am partial to striped or as they call it in New England Mackarel. They are cute, I would have a hard time getting rid of them, but, my husband would not!! Good luck with your new family, looks like all is well.

That's SO awesome, Michelle! I would love to do that but hate it as well because I'd get so attached to those kitties & wouldn't want to let them go! love those names *wink*

You are so wonderful!!

We adopted our little baby from a generous foster family like yours. Thanks to you and all foster moms and dads out there!
